Down 2 Earth was set up by Janice Burley in 2009. She has worked in the Countryside sector since 2000, running courses, facilitating events and delivering projects.

Before Down 2 Earth, Janice worked for the Peak District National Park Authority at Losehill Hall, which at the time was the National Parks Environmental Training Centre. Here she delivered courses for Countryside Rangers, Wardens and Keepers, focussing mainly on soft skills , such as communication skills, project planning, and guided walks training.

She also followed her interest in Health and the Environment, developing and delivering a course on this subject.

Whilst doing this she developed a love of gardening, and studied garden design part-time at a local  agricultural college. After completing the course she project-managed the re-development of a churchyard garden she designed, and went on to design and plant other gardens in Derbyshire.

Janice has since moved to North Yorkshire, and has developed a garden studio to run gardening courses. With twenty years of gardening experience, and her design knowledge, Janice likes to share her experience to encourage other people to love their gardens as she does hers. She gardens organically, which is reflected in her courses. She also tries to be as environmentally- and wildlife-friendly as possible.
