Janice has studied garden design, and has worked on her own garden since 1992. She uses a combination of her training and gardening skills to offer gardening and garden design courses, aimed at people who want to improve their own gardens. She has designed, project-managed and landscaped a number of public and private gardens.
Courses for 2019
Grow your Garden Know-How: £10 per session
We’ll begin with a look at what to do in the garden now, then over a drink you’ll have chance to ask questions about general gardening matters and develop your knowledge. Come to as many or as few sessions as you like.
Mondays: 13th May, 3rd June, 8th July, 12th August: 7.00 – 8.30 p.m.
An Introduction to Garden Design: £70 **Note date changes**
Do you want to make more of your garden? Does it look abandoned in winter? Have you thought of a design, but aren't sure if it will work? If so, this is the course for you. Lots of examples, time for discussion and design theory too!
Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June: 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
Saturday 15th June and Sunday 16th June: 10.00a.m. - 4.00 p.m.
Tuesday 11th, 18th, 25th June and 2nd July: 7.00 p.m. – 9.00 p.m.

Previous Courses for 2019
An Introduction to Pruning: £25
Come along and learn more about how to prune trees and shrubs. We’ll start with a hot drink in the garden studio and a chat about what to prune and when. We’ll then walk around the garden looking at specific examples, and finish with hot soup cosied up to the log burner.
Saturday 23rd February: 10.00 – 12.30/1.00 pm (including lunch)
An Introduction to Propagating: £25
Increase your knowledge about how to get more plants for free, and from seeds. After a hot drink in the garden studio, we’ll look at lifting and dividing perennials, how to take ‘heel’ cuttings, as well as planting seeds and potting on seedlings. We’ll then warm up with some hot soup by the log burner.
